Punahou beats Saint Louis in ILH basketball

The Buffanblu, ranked No. 3 in The Advertiser's statewide Top 10 poll of coaches and media, improved to 6-1 in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu and claimed sole possession of first place in the ILH standings. Saint Louis, ranked No. 2, fell to 5-2.
Punahou trailed 43-34 with 2:43 remaining in the third period when Spencer McLachlin drained a 3-pointer which ignited a 24-2 run that ended with the Buffanblu up, 58-45, with four minutes left in the game.
Three-time Advertiser All-State first team guard Miah Ostrowski scored 12 points during the run, including spectacular back-to-back fast break layups in the final 29 seconds of the third quarter to give Punahou a 44-43 lead.
McLachlin finished with a game-high 23 points to Ostrowski's 21.
