Honolulu's Pflueger third in Nevada race

LAUGHLIN, Nev. — Las Vegas desert racer B.J. Baldwin has won his second straight SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.

Baldwin was the top overall finisher in his Chevy Silverado, with a time of one hour, 31 minutes and 31 seconds.

"You never get used to winning. I love it, I cant get enough of it," said Baldwin, 27, whose time also topped the SCORE Trophy-Truck competition on Sunday.

Garron Cadiente of Mesa, Ariz., competing in a Ford F-150 was second overall and second in the Trophy-Truck class with a time of one hour, 34 minutes and 17 seconds.

Alan Pflueger of Honolulu came in third overall and third in the Trophy-Truck class with a time of one hour, 34 minutes and 33 seconds in his Chevy Silverado.

In Class 1, John Herder of Tucson, Ariz., finished first with a time of 1:36:56 in his Jimco-Chevy; B.J. Richardson and John Gaughan of Las Vegas finished second in their Bunderson-Chevy with a time of 1:37:18; and Ronny Wilson of Long Beach, Calif., finished third in his Jimco-Chevy in 1:38:28.

The 13th annual Laughlin race marks the first round of the six-race SCORE Desert Series.

Some 226 racers competed in several categories on the six-mile desert course.
