Jessica Lau crowned 2007 Narcissus Queen

Jessica Mew Luan Lau was crowned the 2007 Narcissus Queen on Jan. 20 during the 58th annual Narcissus Queen Pageant at the Hawaii Theatre.

Lau was born in Honolulu, to Dr. Ernest and Laura Lau.

A graduate of Roosevelt High, Lau is a junior at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa, where she is majoring in business. Her career goal is to open a restaurant. Lau speaks Spanish, and enjoys hiking, surfing, playing the violin, dirt biking and reading.

Also crowned were first princess Sibyl Wong, second princess Adrienne Au, third princess Jennifer Lam and fourth princess Julia Chen.

The Miss Popularity and Talent titles were awarded to Sibyl Wong, and Miss Congeniality to Vanessa Chan.

Prizes for the queen and court include tuition scholarships and travel expenses for the Narcissus Goodwill Tour to China.

Contestants in the Narcissus Queen Pageant must be between 19 and 26, at least half Chinese and a resident of Hawai'i for six months or more.
