San Jose State rallies past Rainbow Wahine, 57-56

Jaime Hall's field goal with 17 second remaining lifted San Jose State to a 57-56 victory over Hawai'i in a Western Athletic Conference women's basketball game Thursday at the Events Center in San Jose, Calif.

San Jose State is 2-19 overall and 1-6 in the WAC. Hawai'i is 7-12 and 1-6.

After Hall's shot, the Rainbow Wahine got the ball back, but turned it over with 2 seconds remaining.

Pam Tambini hit the second of two free throws with 40 seconds to go to give UH a 56-55 lead before Hall made what proved to be the game-winner.

The Rainbow Wahine led by as many as 16 points during the first half and took a 33-27 halftime lead.

After shooting 45 percent (13 of 29) in the first half, the Rainbows shot 30 percent (7 of 23) in the second half.

The Spartans took their first lead since 2-0 at 40-39 with 10:26 to go. Neither team was able to take more than three-point lead the rest of the way.

Tambini scored 16 to lead UH. Janevia Taylor added 10.

Natalie White scored 13 and Hall had 11 for San Jose State.
