High surf advisory in effect until 6 a.m.

Advertiser Staff

The remnants of the latest big winter swell is expected to pass early this morning, with north- and west-facing shores remaining under a high surf advisory until 6 a.m. today.

The National Weather Service said the northest swell that has been with us the past two days will diminish by daybreak.

Surf along north-facing shores will decrease to 6 to 10 feet today, while surf along west-facing shores will decrease to 3 to 6 feet.

Surf along east facing shores will be 3 to 5 feet and southern shores will see surf 1 to 3 feet.

A new northwest swell will produce surf below the 15-foot advisory level on the north shore. Another very large northwest swell on Monday will again push surf above warning levels on north and west shores.
