Chuck Furuya holds 'new finds' wine-tasting tomorrow

Advertiser Staff

Master sommelier Chuck Furuya, who rules the cellar at Vino and Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas at Restaurant Row, will hold his monthly "Winetasting with Chuck" at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow.

If you're interested in learning about wines — from the soils they grow in to anecdotes about their creators, these sessions are invaluable.

Furuya will pour five different wines, two ounces

each. They're his latest finds, such as a Vermentino from Tablas Creek in Paso Robles, where the soil is limestony and filled with whale fossils (those are the kinds of details you'll get from Furuya). "It's totally unreal!" says Furuya.

Price is just $25 per person plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited and by reservation only. Call 524-8466.
