Suspect in multiple thefts arrested

Advertiser Staff

A 36-year-old Kalihi man is being held on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle that also had stolen license plates, possession of stolen credit cards, possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, possession of a deadly weapon and possession of stolen goods from at least four other cases, police said.

The suspect was arrested last night without incident near N. Nimitz and Pu'uahale Road after an officer spotted the red Nissan Altima and recalled the license plate had been used in a home burglary on Nu'uanu Avenue earlier this week.

Brass knuckles and drugs were found on the suspect, police said, and inside the vehicle were stolen credit cards and items from several theft cases under investigation. Police found the car's license plate had been reported stolen, as well as the car.
