Honolulu's Parker McLachlin, who is in contention in this week's Buick Invitational in San Diego, has signed to become the touring golf professional for Waikoloa Beach & Golf Resort."I'm very excited about starting this great relationship with Waikoloa Beach & Golf Resort, which I consider to be the premier beach resort in Hawaii," said McLachlin in a press release.
"Waikoloa holds a special place in my heart and has been the site for many great memories, including my course-record 59. I've visited and played at Waikoloa since I was 10 years old, and I'm thrilled to be on the PGA TOUR representing the resort, its residents and guests."
Born and raised in Hawaii, the 27-year-old McLachlin became a golf professional in 2003 and recently earned his PGA TOUR Card for 2007.
McLachlin will be registered as playing from Waikoloa Beach & Golf Resort on the PGA TOUR, and will display the Waikoloa logo on his golf bag and golf shirt while competing in tournaments.
