Moderate surf today, but large swell forming

Advertiser Staff

A storm system northwest of the islands will generate a large swell that could arrive Sunday night, the National Weather Service said.

The swell could produce warning level surf for O'ahu's north and west shores and is expected to peak on Monday.

Today, however, surf at the North Shore will be a relatively moderate 6 to 10 feet, while surf along west shores will be 3 to 6 feet.

Eastern shores will see surf 2 to 4 feet, while southern shores will see surf 1 to 3 feet.
