Honolulu's Pflueger third in Nevada race

LAUGHLIN, Nev. — Las Vegas desert racer B.J. Baldwin has won his second straight SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.

Alan Pflueger of Honolulu came in third overall and third in the Trophy-Truck class.

Baldwin, 27, was the top overall finisher in his Chevy Silverado, in 1 hour, 31 minutes, 31 seconds. Pflueger was third in 1 hour, 34 minutes, 33 seconds in his Chevy Silverado.

Pflueger is president of Pflueger Automotive Group.

Baldwin's time also topped the SCORE Trophy-Truck competition on Sunday.

Garron Cadiente of Mesa, Ariz., competing in a Ford F-150 was second overall and second in the Trophy-Truck class in 1 hour, 34 minutes, 17 seconds.

WAI'ANAE'S FABORITO TO LEAD WOMEN'S RODEO

Lu Faborito, of Wai'anae, has been elected president of the Hawai'i Women's Rodeo Association.

John Teixeira and Sandy Van and Lisa Marie Padilla will serve as vice president, treasurer and secretary, respectively. Board members are Debbie Eguires, Jessica Keawe Reuter and Stacie Nakashima.
