McLachlin shoots 4-over 76, is tied for 40th

Advertiser Staff

Former Honolulu resident Parker McLachlin shot a 4-over-par 76 Saturday and fell out of contention in the Buick Invitational in San Diego.

McLachlin, a Punahou School alumnus, had seven bogeys and three birdies on the Torrey Pines South Course.

McLachlin bogeyed the first two holes, birdied the fourth, bogeyed the fifth and birdied the sixth and then the ninth to make the turn at even-par 36. On the back nine, McLachlin bogeyed the 12 to go 1-over. McLachlin then bogeyed three holes in a row -- from Nos. 14-16 -- and came in at 4-over 40 for the back nine.

McLachlin, who was tied for eighth place going into the third round, is now tied for 40th place at 3-under 213. He shot 2-under 70 Thursday and 5-under 67 Friday.

Andrew Buckle (68) and Brandt Snedeker (74) are at 205. Tiger Woods is at 207.

The final round is Sunday.
