Rainbow Wahine stop Utah State, 62-57

Tanya Smith had 24 points and nine rebounds, and Megan Tinnin added 17 points, as Hawai'i defeated host Utah State, 62-57, in a Western Athletic Conference women's basketball game on Saturday.

The Rainbow Wahine improved to 8-12 overall and 2-6 in the WAC. The Aggies fell to 7-12 and 3-4.

Hawai'i's Pam Tambini had a statistical double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Tinnin, a freshman guard, earned her first start and made 6 of 9 shots, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range.

Taylor Richards led Utah State with 13 points.
