Big Isle continues to shake, rattle and roll
Advertiser Staff
You probably didn't feel either of them, but there were at least two minor earthquakes on the Big Island on Saturday.
One quake, assigned a magnitude of 2.2 by the United States Geological Survey, occurred at 1:45 a.m. about 7 miles south-southeast of Volcano.
Another quake, with a magnitude of 1.7, occurred at 4:18 a.m. and was centered about 3 miles west-southwest of Kailua, Kona.
Including Saturday's pipsqueak quakes, a total of 17 temblors, with magnitudes ranging from 1.7 to 2.9, have rolled through or under the Big Island this past week, most of them unnoticed by people.
