Despite a season- and college career-high 37 points from 'Iolani alumnus Derrick Low, No. 20 Washington State fell to No. 7 Oregon in overtime, 77-74, Saturday in Pullman, Wash.

Low, who had 27 points at the end of regulation, scored all of Washington State's 10 overtime points.

He missed two 3-pointers at the end of the game that would have tied it.

But Low, a four-time All-State player who led Iolani to three state high school titles, brought back Washington State almost single-handedly in overtime.

Oregon, which rallied to tie the game at 64 and force overtime, rattled off 10 consecutive points to open overtime.

Low then took over for the Cougars.

He made 1 of 2 free-throw attempts with more than two minutes left to break Oregon's run and cut the deficit to 74-65. He then was fouled on a 3-point attempt and made all free throws to make it 74-68.

A basket made it 76-68 for Oregon, but Low hit a 3-pointer to make it 76-71 with 31 seconds left.

Oregon's Aaron Brooks made 1 of 2 free-throw attempts to make it 77-71. Low then missed a 3-point attempt and Oregon rebounded, forcing the Cougars to foul.

After Oregon's Maarty Leunen missed two free throws, Low hit another 3-pointer to make it 77-74 with 18 seconds to play.

Low then made a steal, and after Kyle Weaver missed a 3-point attempt, Low got the offensive rebound with 7 seconds left.

He then attempted a 3-pointer with 5 seconds left and another with 2 seconds to play.

For the game, Low hit 10 of 21 field-goal attempts, including 9 of 16 3-point attempts. He hit 8 of 10 free-throw attempts.

Oregon trailed 33-27 at halftime and was down by eight most of the second half before tying the game at 64 at the end of regulation. Leunen hit two free throws with a second left to force the extra session.

Oregon got off quickly in overtime as Brooks hit a jumper and assisted on a 3-pointer to give Oregon a 69-64 lead. Tajuan Porter, on an assist from Leunen, hit a 3-pointer to make it 72-64. Brooks followed with a layup for a 74-64 lead.

Brooks counted Low by scoring 31 points. Brooks, who was suspended and missed Oregon's Thursday loss at Washington, hit 9 of 19 field-goal attempts, including 5 of 11 from 3-point range. He hit 8 of 11 free-throw attempts.
