Two sought by police arrested in Hilo

Advertiser Staff

Big Island police have arrested two men in connection with a home invasion burglary and assault at a home in the Ainaloa subdivision in Puna late in the evening of Jan. 11.

The two men, ages 21 and 25, are brothers. Police this week had asked for the public's help in finding the pair.

The two men were arrested Friday without incident in the Hilo industrial area on suspicion of burglary, assault and criminal property damage. They have not been charged.

The two are being held at the Hilo police cellblock while detectives from the Criminal Investigations Section continue the inquiry.

Police were summoned to the Puna residence just before midnight on Jan. 11 in response to a report that two men had entered the home and assaulted one of its occupants. A 40-year-old man received injuries during the attack but did not require immediate medical attention.
