Oregon State sweeps UH-Hilo

Jordan Lennerton had three hits and Darwin Barney drove in three runs as Oregon State defeated Hawai'i-Hilo, 9-3, Friday night to complete a baseball doubleheader sweep at Francis Wong Stadium.
Daniel Turpin (1-0) allowed five hits and one run while striking out five and walking two for the defending national champion Beavers (3-0).
Matt Haasenritter had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs to lead the Vulcans (0-3).
Oregon State won the first game, 17-4, as former Wai'anae resident Koa Kahalehoe was one of three players to drive in three runs.
Kahalehoe, whose family moved to Las Vegas after his freshman year, had a two-run double in a six-run third inning. Barney and John Wallace also had three RBIs each for the Beavers.
A.J. Satele batted 3 for 3 with a solo home run for the Vulcans.

BYUH WOMEN WIN
Latoya Wily had 27 points and 17 rebounds — her 15th double-double in 17 games this season — to lead Brigham Young-Hawai'i to a 76-55 victory over Hawai'i Pacific Friday night in a Pacific West Conference women's basketball game at Kilauea Recreation Center gym.
Kayla Burningham added 18 points for the Seasiders (7-10, 5-2 PacWest).
Kanani Thomas had 12 points and five assists for the Sea Warriors (1-18, 1-6).
BYUH MEN WIN, TOO
Paul Peterson had 26 points and 11 rebounds as Brigham Young-Hawai'i defeated Hawai'i Pacific, 74-70, Friday night in a Pacific West Conference men's basketball game at King Armory.
Eric Boyce added 12 points for the Seasiders (14-5, 6-1 PacWest).
Mickey Wheeler had 18 points and Kamron Alborz 17 for the Sea Warriors (7-11, 1-6).
TENNIS
TOP SEED ADVANCES
Top-seeded Edina Gallovits of Romania defeated Neha Uberoi of the United States, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1, Friday in the quarterfinals of the $50,000 USTA Waikoloa Challenger at the Waikoloa Village Tennis Club on the Big Island.
Taiwan's Yen-Hsun Lu, the highest seeded player remaining in the men's field at No. 3, also advanced to the semifinals with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Rajeev Ram of the United States.
