Copper thief puts Kipapa classrooms in dark

Electrical power was cut off to six portable classrooms at Kipapa Elementary School today due to the theft of copper wiring from an electrical box.

The theft occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and early this morning, police said.

The loss was estimated at $583, according to police.

No suspects have been identified. The case is classified as a second-degree theft.
