Kaka'ako Kitchen cookie contest fundraiser on Feb. 11

Advertiser Staff

Got a favorite cookie recipe? It could help feed the hungry.

"Cookies of the Heart," a fundraiser for Aloha Harvest, is back by popular demand. Russell Siu, owner and chef of Kaka'ako Kitchen at Ward Center, will hold a cookie contest at 5 p.m Feb. 11 at the restaurant.

The public is encouraged to submit favorite cookie recipes. Twenty-five applicants will be asked to bake three dozen cookies, two dozen of which will be donated to Aloha Harvest, which feeds Hawai'i's hungry and needy. Three judges will determine three winners after a tasting.

The public can attend, at $2 per person, with participation limited to 75. Cookies and coffee will be served.

The recipes will become the property of Kaka'ako Kitchen, for future use.

Entrants should be at the restaurant by 4 p.m.

For specifics on entering, call 545-4195.
