Improv group Loose Screws does V-Day performance

Advertiser Staff

Loose Screws, Honolulu's best-known resident improvisation comedy group, will mark its 14th anniversary with a performance at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at Kumu Kahua Theatre. On the Spot will be a guest act.

The Valentine's Day comedy bill, part of Kumu Kahua's Dark Night Series, will showcase Loose Screw's mix of short, fast-clipped comedic mini-plays.

The heart-shaped date means the spontaneous scenes will embrace romantic relationships of audience members.

The company features Robb Bonnell, Monica Coldwell, Squire Coldwell, Meredith Desha, Chris Doi, R. Kevin Doyle, Lani Jones, Matt Miller, Sean T.C. O'Malley, Christopher Obenchain and Garrick Paikai.

Loose Screws will then skip town to perform its acclaimed take on kabuki, "Screwbuki," Feb. 16 and 17 at the Seattle Improv Festival.

Tickets sales start Feb. 5; $10 at the door or by phone, 536-4441.
