  • ResortQuest Hawaii has named Shari Chang senior vice president of sales, marketing and revenue management. Chang is also former senior vice president of sales and marketing for Castle Hotels and Resorts; senior vice president of sales and marketing for Aloha Airlines; vice president of Island Holidays, and, most recently, vice president of marketing, and communications at Aloha United Way. She served as a gubernatorial appointee to the inaugural Hawaii Tourism Authority in 1998, including as board chairman in 2000.

  • Kim Peterson has been named director of human resources for Hawai'i Dental Service, the state's leading dental benefits provider. He is past senior vice president of administration for C. Brewer and Co., and group vice president of human resources for Spirent Communications. He also founded and operated Creative Concepts and Designs LLC. Peterson is a former chairman of the Hawaii Business Health Council, and previously served on the board of directors of HMSA, and Child and Family Service.

  • Morton's, The Steakhouse Honolulu has named Jeff Bueche general manager of the Ala Moana Center eatery. Besides day-to-day operations, he will also oversee sales and marketing, development and training of staff and management, financial accountability, and quality assurance. He has held a variety of culinary positions with country clubs and resorts.

  • Locally owned property and casualty insurance company Island Insurance Co. Ltd. has named local attorney James Shigeo Dixon to the newly created position of assistant vice president for compliance and governmental affairs. Besides mandated compliance matters, he will oversee governmental affairs and required filings, including current and proposed legislation and regulatory rules. Most recently, Dixon was an attorney with the Law Offices of Marvin S.C. Dang.
