Saint Louis beats Kamehameha in ILH basketball

Fourth-ranked Saint Louis is keeping it close in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu basketball race.

Scott Smith scored 16 points and the Crusaders used a big second half to beat host Kamehameha, 51-36, Tuesday night at Kekuhaupio Gym.

Saint Louis improved to 7-2 and remained one-half game behind No. 1 'Iolani and No. 2 Punahou, both 7-1. Kamehameha fell to 3-6.

Leading 22-20 at intermission, the Crusaders used a 14-8 third quarter for a 36-28 lead, then pulled away with a 15-8 fourth quarter.

Rykin Enos hit three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points to lead the Warriors.

IOLANI 62, DAMIEN 52: Liloa Nobriga scored 15 points and the top-ranked Raiders (7-1) took a 46-31 lead into the fourth quarter in beating the host Monarchs (0-8). Anthony Tuitele made three 3-pointers en route to 15 points and Nikko Romuar added 10 for Damien.

PUNAHOU 76, MID-PACIFIC 47: Miah Ostrowski scored a game-high 21 points and Dalton Hilliard added 16 to lead the visiting Buffanblu (8-1) over the Owls (3-5). Ryan Kurihara had 13 points for Mid-Pacific and Kellar Ellsworth added 12.
