Hale'iwa search for distressed swimmer called off

A search for a swimmer or surfer in distress at the Hale'iwa Small Boat Harbor has been called off, officials said Tuesday afternoon.A Fire Department rescue crew Tuesday morning launched a personal watercraft at the boat harbor and checked the area in response to unconfirmed reports that someone may help.
There are now no reports of a missing swimmer or surfer.
