Kawamoto gets 3,000 replies from Kahala homes offer

Japanese real estate tycoon Genshiro Kawamoto said he has received roughly more than 3,000 letters seeking to rent one of eight million-dollar Kahala homes he plans to rent to needy families for $100 to $150 a month.The billionaire, who publicized the offer in October, had expected to select tenants this month but said he is behind schedule and now will try to make final tenant selections by March 17.
