3 public charter schools closed today on Big Isle, O'ahu

Advertiser Staff

Three public charter schools are closed Wednesday while all other public schools remain open despite high winds and scattered power outages, said state Department of Education spokesman Greg Knudsen. It is unknown whether high winds and adverse weather conditions prompted the closures, he said.

The closed charter schools are: West Hawai'i Explorations Academy and Kanu O Ka 'Aina on the Big Island, and Ke Kula 'O Samuel M. Kamakau on the windward side of O'ahu.
