Fresno State to play UCLA in football in 2008

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES — UCLA added a seventh home game to its 2008 football schedule, opening the season on Aug. 30 against Fresno State.

That game replaces a road game that had been scheduled at San Diego State on Sept. 20.

"San Diego State was concerned about the difficulty of its 2008 schedule and requested relief," UCLA spokesman Marc Dellins said. "It took a few months to find an opponent with the same available date but we are happy things worked out with Fresno State."

After opening at home against Fresno State, the Bruins will host Tennessee on Sept. 6 before traveling to BYU on Sept. 13.

Following a bye week, UCLA will open Pac-10 play against Arizona on Sept. 27.
