Exclusive Hello Kitty goods sold at Ala Moana

Hello Kitty charm straps and lanyards with ‘ukulele and hibiscus are sold only at Sanrio in Ala Moana Center.

Hello Kitty gets a Hawai'i-kitsch makeover for a line of products that are available only at Ala Moana Center. The Japanese cartoon cat is part of a meow mix of 'ukulele inscribed with "Ala Moana" and hibiscus on lanyards and charm straps.

"We're very excited to have these exclusive Hello Kitty products sold at Ala Moana Center," said Sharon James, regional vice president of marketing for General Growth Properties of Hawaii, in a written statement. "Hello Kitty is a very popular and positive family brand and we know it will be a hit among our International travelers and kama'aina residents who are enamored by the product line."

Available at the Sanrio store (street level, near Foodland) are:

--Charm straps, $7.99 and $9.99 each

--Lanyards, $10.99 each.

At the Build-A-Bear Workshop is another Hello Kitty Ala Moana exclusive — a tanned Hello Kitty plush toy ($23).
