Trade winds likely to increase by middle of the week

Moderate trades will continue to blow through the first half of the new week, then build slowly, according to the National Weather Service.Increased windward rainfall will spread northwest from the Big Island to the rest of the state.
The leeward slopes of most islands will see a few showers each afternoon, forecasters said.
