'BayFest' to cap off the day with fireworks display

The annual "BayFest" celebration continues today at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kane'ohe.

The events will start at noon with the continuing Island Life Expo, military static displays and car show until 8 p.m., and family fun, food, events and carnival rides will be available until midnight. 

There will be an open-mic comedy contest at 1 p.m., the the ever popular Bath Tub Regatta at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Body Search Fitness Challenge. Contest winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. The MFP Band will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. followed by more local performances at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday night's feature performance will be award winning country music star Alan Jackson at 8:30 p.m. followed by a fireworks show at 10 p.m. and the tent party from 10:30 to 1 a.m.
