Derek Tatsuno, the greatest pitcher in University of Hawaii history, will be
inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame this week. The
flame-throwing left-hander out of Aiea High School went on to establish
national and school records during this three seasons at the University of
Hawaii. He became the first pitcher to win 20 games in a single season in
1979 in Division I.
Festivities for the induction run Monday through Wednesday in Lubbock,
Texas.
Here are some photos of Tatsuno from his youth to his days as a University of Hawai‘i and Hawaii Islanders pitcher.
