HECO using copter transports at Waimea, Manoa

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Electric Co. will be using a helicopter tomorrow and Friday to airlift work crews and equipment to separate job sites at Waimea Bay and Manoa Valley, respectively.

Contractors working on a HECO utility pole project on a hillside overlooking Waimea Bay will be flying equipment to the site tomorrow at about 9:30 a.m.

The equipment flights in Manoa Valley Friday will start at 8:30 a.m. and continue intermittently throughout the day until 3 p.m.

HECO officials said in compliance with Federal Avaiation Administration regulations, helicopters carrying loads will not fly over residential or populated areas.
