Former Rainbow Wahine Sanders released by Detroit

The Detroit Shock of the WNBA waived former University of Hawai'i player Amy Sanders today.Sanders, a rookie guard who joined the team in training camp, averaged 1.5 minutes in six games. She totaled just two points hitting one free throw in two separate games two rebounds and two turnovers.
Coach Bill Laimbeer told the Detroit Free Press "we're still searching" for a player to fill Sanders' spot.
Sanders completed her eligibility at UH in 2006. She became the second Rainbow Wahine to make a WNBA roster. Judy Mosley-McAfee played for Los Angeles and Sacramento in 1997.
