Lawai man killed in two-car crash on Kauai

A Lawa'i man was killed today in a two-car crash on Kaua'i's Kaumuali'i Highway west of mile marker eight in 'Oma'o.Police identified the victim as Clyde Shigematsu, 55.
Shigematsu was driving west in a Toyota sedan on Kaumuali'i Highway at about 10 a.m. when his car was struck by an eastbound Toyota Tundra pickup truck driven by a 57-year-old Kalaheo man.
Shigematsu had to be extricated from his vehicle and was transported to Wilcox Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The two occupants in the truck were not injured.
The death is the Kaua'i's fourth traffic fatality this year.
