City & County employees credit union changes name

The Honolulu City & County Employees Federal Credit Union has changed its name to the Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union.

"We are changing our name to Aloha Pacific FCU to better reflect our service philosophy as we grow membership and improve products and services," said Wallace Watanabe, president and chief executive officer said.

The name change has received the approval of the National Credit Union Administration. Other local regulatory approvals are anticipated to be granted shortly. the credit union said in a news release. Over the next few months the organization will gradually change signage and other materials to reflect the new name.

The credit union is the third largest in Hawai'i with more than $415 million in assets. The main branch is on South Hotel Street, with additional branches in Waikele and Waimalu. A downtown Honolulu branch is scheduled to open later this year.

It also has a network of more than 40 Kalabash ATMs throughout Hawai'i. Membership is open to employees of the City and County of Honolulu, members of the Hawai'i Government Employees Association, as well as other select employee groups and their immediate family.
