HONOLULU
Bank giving IHS 100 computers

Advertiser Staff

Central Pacific Bank will donate 100 computers to the Institute for Human Services, which runs the state's only emergency homeless shelters for families and single people.

The gently used computers will be put in learning centers at two Honolulu shelters. IHS social workers also will use the computers, which will be dropped off at the Ka'aahi Street shelter Friday at 11 a.m.

"These computers will be used by women and children in our Ka'aahi shelter learning center, by men at the Iwilei shelter to create resumes and seek jobs and by social services staff who badly need computer upgrades," said Mark Brackins, IHS director of information systems.
