Trade winds to get stronger toward week's end

Gusty trade winds will continue to blow through the state this week, strengthening after midweek, according to the National Weather Service. Expect trade showers tonight. Windward and mauka showers are expected during the night and early morning.

Here's what to look for in weather:

  • Today — Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 81 degrees. East winds between 13 mph and 17 mph, with gusts up to 26 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Tonight — Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73 degrees. East winds at about 14 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph. Chance of rain: 30 percent.

  • Independence Day — Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 85 degrees. East winds between 14 mph and 17 mph, with gusts up to 26 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Wednesday night — Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low of about 73 degrees. East winds at about 14 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph. Chance of rain: 30 percent.
