Parker Ranch rodeo, races on Big Island tomorrow

Parker Ranch hosts its 45th Annual July Rodeo and Horse Races - Celebrating 160 years of Paniolo Heritage, from 9 a.m. to noon July 4 at the Parker Ranch Rodeo Arena in Waimea on the Big Island.

This year's rodeo will also include the debut performance of the 2007 Pacific Radio Group, Parker Ranch Paniolo Song Contest's winning song.

Tickets are $5 per person in advance from the Parker Ranch Store or $6 at the gate (Children 10 and under are free).

The event will include the traditional and colorful grand entry parade, and a tribute to Ranch Founder John Palmer Parker.

Action will include horse races and traditional rodeo events such as team sorting, double mugging, dally team roping and more.

Keiki activities include pony rides for ages 2-10. Children 5 and under must be accompanied by guardian.
