UH's Smith makes Australian national basketball team

Tanya Smith, who will be a senior at the University of Hawai'i in the fall, will represent her home country of Australia at the 2007 World University Summer Games.The native of Sydney was one of 12 players selected by Basketball Australia and Australian University Sport to compete at the Games, Aug. 8 to 18, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Smith, a 6-foot-3 forward, is coming off an all-Western Athletic Conference season. As a junior she was the team's top scorer (14.4 ppg) and rebounder (10.4 rpg) in conference games and led the Rainbow Wahine to their second consecutive winning season (15-14).
