Center to look at coral reefs

The Hanauma Bay Marine Education Center will hold a series of evening programs about coral reefs during July.

The education programs, which are conducted by the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Sea Grant Extension Service, are free and open to the public and are set for 6:30-7:30 p.m. on various dates. For more information, call 397-5840. The first two programs are:

  • Thursday: "Ecological Impact of Snowflake Coral in Hawai'i and the Feasibility of Using Nudibrances as a Biological Control Agent."

  • July 12: "Coral Spawning" by Robert Richmond, UH Kewalo Marine Laboratory, Pacific Biosciences Research Center.
