KAPAHULU
Riders want say on bus stops

Advertiser Staff

Many bus riders are upset, saying they didn't have a say in which stops the city should remove, as part of its bus stop realignment project.

This concern prompted the Diamond Head/ Kapahulu /St. Louis Heights Neighborhood Board to pass a resolution recently urging the city to let area residents know well in advance about the removal of bus stops. It calls for a general meeting with affected neighborhood boards and residents before the bus stops are removed.

"The only notice was the written notice at bus stop," said Rick Egged, neighborhood board member. "The concern was there was no real outlet for the public."
