Firefighters put out brushfire in Kalani Valley

Advertiser Staff

Five fire companies took about an hour tonight to put out a hillside brushfire in Kalani Valley near Laukahi Street.

The 8:08 p.m. fire did not threaten any homes, according to Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig.

HFD has been peppered with small brushfire calls from about 8:30 p.m., especially along the Wai'anae Coast, where there were reports of people throwing fireworks at passing motorists in the area of Makaha Beach Park.
