Body of diver recovered in waters off Kau, Hawaii

Big Island fire rescue specialists last night recovered the body of a 37-year-old Pahala man from waters off Whittington Beach Park in Ka'u.Police identified the man as Leo Norberte Jr.
Firefighters responded to an 8:06 p.m. report of a possible diver in distress and found Norberte's body about 150 yards off shore in 10-12 feet of water at 10:45 p.m.
Norberte was pronounced dead at Ka'u Hospital.
An autopsy was pending.
