Meeting professionals group names local chapter head

Edie Hafdahl, director of sales and marketing for the Kaua'i Visitors Bureau has been elected president of Meeting Professionals International's (MPI) Aloha Chapter. The voluntary one-year term began July 1.Hafdahl has directed KVB's sales of group meetings business for the past 10 years, traveling around the world to tradeshows, special events and sales blitzes to sell Kaua'i as a destination for corporate meetings, conventions and incentives. Before that, she spent nearly 20 years in hotel operations.
"I'm honored to be leading my colleagues in building a strong chapter through increased visibility and recognition of our activities, and inspiring members to connect more with one another at both the local and international level," Hafdahl said.
MPI's Aloha Chapter has 86 members statewide. The rest of the new board of directors is:
