Recycling project at Kahaluu park tomorrow

The KEY Project, benefiting the Kualoa-He'eia area, is sponsoring a public recycling project tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kahalu'u Regional Park.

Local businesses will provide pro bono services for the collection of recyclables, and in turn, will make financial donations to nonprofit and charitable organizations.

Goodwill Industries will also be on hand to receive usable items and provide receipts.

Recyclables wanted:

  • scrap metal, auto parts, bicycles, metal appliances

    (NO MICROWAVE OVENS, GAS TANKS, TV'S)

  • newspaper, cardboard

  • beverage containers - HI-5

  • old tires — passenger tires only, 1 load per household

  • green waste

  • car batteries

  • re-useable household items, clothing, etc.

  • cellular phones

  • printer cartridges

  • computers — 1 per household/1 per car
