The Hawai'i Women's Business Center will hold a workshop to help "Get Your Business e-Organized" from 6-9 p.m. July 18 at the center, 1041 Nu'uanu Ave.

The HWBC estimates that people working with data spend from 30 minutes to several hours each day searching for information and that it costs an organization an average of $120 in labor to find each misfiled document. The center said that a business loses one out of every 20 documents and spends 25 hours recreating each lost file.

The seminar will help participants learn to organize a filing system for electronic documents and data, save documents for fast retrieval, create ways to move multiple files quickly and easily, backup computer data, and set up a backup system that fits your business.

The seminar will be led by Karen Simon, founder of PC Tech Associates. The fee is $58.50 for HWBC members and $65 for nonmembers.
