Traveling storytellers appear Saturday at State Library

In celebration of the 2007 Hawaii State Public Library System's Children's Summer Reading Program, The Travelling Storytellers are scheduled to present "Gems by Perrault" at three Oahu public libraries in July. Admission is free.

This special presentation by Kyle Kakuno and The Travelling Storytellers will feature "Cinderella" and "Puss in Boots," two classic fairy tale adapted from "Tales of Mother Goose" by Charles Perrault, the French author and poet.

akuno and The Travelling Storytellers have presented original humorous adaptations of classic literature in schools and public libraries statewide.

"Gems by Perrault" will be performed at the following public libraries:

i Saturday, July 7, 10:30 a.m. at Hawaii State Library–Edna Allyn Room for Children

i Saturday, July 21, 10:30 a.m. at Kailua

i Thursday, July 26, 6:30 p.m. at Aiea

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii and the local Friends chapters of Aiea and Kailua public libraries, this presentation is suitable for all ages.

Call the hosting library two weeks in advance if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
