SEPTEMBER: LONELY BOYS

Los Lonely Boys, the hot blues/rock trio from west Texas, is heading this way for a concert Sept. 20 at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Tickets — $40 — are scheduled to go on sale Aug. 17 through Ticketmaster. More details to come.

Los Lonely Boys' self-titled debut album sold more than 2 million copies and spawned the Grammy-winning single "Heaven." The band's sophomore release is "Sacred."

GREEK FEST IN AUGUST

Mark your calendars for Aug. 25-26. That's when the 27th annual Greek Festival takes place at Ala Moana Beach Park's McCoy Pavilion, offering culinary delights including spanokopita, gyro sandwiches, moussaka, souvlaki and baklava; Greek beer and ouzo; and performances by FOTIA, a band from the West Coast, The Nisiotes Dance Group, and Partners in Time.

Hours are from noon to 9 p.m. each day. Admission is $3 general, free for kids 11 and younger and for military and their families.

SHOP TILL YOU ...

One of the year's greatest shopping opportunities, the Made in Hawaii Festival, is happening from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 17-18; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and Arena. Admission is $3 general, free for kids 6 and younger.
