Scooter rider dies at Queen's

A 53-year-old man critically injured Tuesday in a rear-end collision involving his motorized scooter in Helemano died yesterday at The Queen's Medical Center.

The man's Honda scooter hit a Honda sedan at 4:45 p.m. on Kamehameha Highway near the intersection of Pa'ala'a Uka-Pupukea Road.

The death was O'ahu's 38th traffic fatality of the year, compared to 51 on the same date in 2006.
