Autos: NASCAR truck driver arrested on drug charges

Advertiser Staff

MASON, Ohio — NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Aaron Fike was arrested in an amusement park parking lot after authorities found a substance believed to be heroin in his sport utility vehicle, police said.

Mason police said Fike, 24, and his fiancee, Cassandra Davidson, were arrested yesterday on charges of possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Bond hadn't been set and both remained in Warren County Jail late today.

Police officers at Kings Island amusement park in suburban Cincinnati called Mason police after noticing suspicious activity in Fike's Toyota Sequoia, Mason police said in a release.

Fike drives the No. 1 Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing in the Craftsman Truck Series. He is eighth in points with 1487, 566 behind series leader Mike Skinner.

"We are working with NASCAR to obtain further information on the incident and will release more information as the facts become available to us," team owner and general manager Mike DeLoach said in a statement.

Mason police are investigating, and drug analysis results from the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory are pending, police said.
