Educators flock to Oahu for Pacific conference

Starting today and running through Thursday, approximately 1,000 teachers and school administrators from throughout the Pacific Islands will be attending the 24th Annual Pacific Educational Conference at McKinley High School.

The conference is hosted by the Hawai'i Department of Education, Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL), and the University of Hawai'i at Manoa College of Education.

Aside from Hawai'i educators, others attending will be from American Samoa, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia (including states Chuuk, Pohnpei, Yap and Kosrae, a DOE news release stated.
