Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle has appointed Ron Boyer to serve as deputy director of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.

Boyer will fill the position previously held by Larry Reifurth, who now serves as the department's director. Boyer will start his new job next Monday.

Boyer has been a member of Lingle's policy team for the past three legislative sessions. As lead policy analyst, he examined policy issues for various state departments, including the DCCA.

Prior to joining the policy team, Boyer served as senior adviser for former Honolulu councilmembers John Henry Felix and Mike Gabbard. He previously was office manager for former State Rep. Cam Cavasso.

Boyer is a former senior editor for the publishing company Horizons Hawai'i, Inc., where he edited two monthly magazines, Maui Island Guide and Hawai'i Island Guide.
